Everyone Loves a Parade
Today was the kids parade. This was Logan's 3rd or 4th year in it, and my probably nearly 10th (this happens when your kids are 5 years apart), the thing is I like this more and more every year. She is SO excited for her big day in the parade, it brings back the excitement I felt when I was a kid in the Apple Blossom parade! She walked with her elementary school, and their theme was the Blues Brothers!

Happy Easter
So its almost 9:30 at night, but I have a quite moment to blog! Sunday we enjoyed a wonderful Easter. Logan and I (remember Luke is a 14 year old boy) got up and went to an Easter service with a friend and her family. Without getting too much into my religious beliefs, here's a little background. I was raised and still consider myself Catholic. I have a great love and respect for the Catholic religion. In this new quest for finding myself again, I have decided to explore my faith a little more as well. My only issue (and it is probably just me) but in Catholic Mass I am often so lost and confused, trying so hard to understand the meaning of what the Priest is trying to tell us, but on that same note I find great comfort in the formality of it all. OK back to Easter Sunday I went to my very first Protestant church, and I think I even said this when we left it felt like a very "user friendly" version of religion. Both Logan and I enjoyed it!
Then it was onto my Mom's where we had a wonderful brunch with my sister's family and my Oma! Of course an egg hunt followed. By the time we left we were stuffed and tired, came home picked up and walked down to the theater and watched Soul Surfer....2 Thumbs up, I loved it. Another perfect day in the books!

Spring is here!
Yesterday I managed to squeeze in a ride after biking Lo to school, and before heading to work. One of my favorite quick rides is heading up Burch Mt Road. You can head up there and get in a great climb (workout), and the view is your reward. These pictures don't even do it justice, but it is the very reason I ride!

Be Back Soon
I'm a little busy at the moment. I am busy being a Mom/housekeeper/short order cook, a business owner, serving on three different boards, and the owner of a large OLD house. My plate is full this week. Thursday will be our first night with nothing scheduled after 5, and I plan to watch a movie with the kids and vedge...hope to be blogging again this weekend!

Part 2
San Francisco was wonderful. We got in Wednesday afternoon and hit the ground running until Saturday! I have to say in the last 10 years I have been less adventurous on hotels. I typically like the Westin and their Heavenly beds, the Hilton, Hyatt...you get the picture. Times have changed I am on a strict budget if I want to travel, so I sucked up my pride and got what was in the budget. It was one of those hotels where the lobby is much nicer than the room, and the room has double beds...not queens. However, the good news is it didn't matter, we had such a great time. We would leave the hotel by 9 hit the streets and return at 10. The best part was seeing how great the kids thought SF was, it is so important for me to show them there is so much out there, and so easy to go see!

Love is all you Need!
This is just a quick blog entry to let you all know that I am on my own and doing ok! This last month has brought a great deal of peace to me.
I am on my own pretty much for the first time ever. I have always considered myself an independent person, or at least an independent thinker....truth is I never really lived on my own, possibly never really knew 100% who I was. Living with someone for 15 years, I've learned to be patient, supportive, to compromise when needed and forgiving. I wouldn't change it. But the realizations I've had this month have awoken me to what my life is about. I realized I have two kids that bless me beyond words, I have a loving and supportive family, and some of the most amazing and loving friends a girl could ask for. I feel so loved! Being wrapped up in wanting love from 1 person I don't know that I allowed myself to feel all the love that already surrounded me, but I do now.
One day perhaps a man will come into my life and I will have that relationship again, but I am happy and content with my life right where it is right now!

R&R
Sometimes you just need to get away from it all. Feeling the need for a quick escape last week, so I got on and found a stellar deal at Hotel Sierra in Bellevue, Lo and I got in the car Saturday morning shopped a bit at Norstrom Rack, picked up dinner to go and went to the hotels by 5 and relaxed. We watched t.v, read and simply relaxed. The next morning we went down for breakfast, and did some more relaxing until check out, it was FABULOUS.
I might add this girl is the BEST at chillin! |
No trip ove the mountains would be complete without a stop to stock up! |
