I am still behind, but getting there!
Last summer I ended up having back surgery, suddenly. It was by far one of the craziest 4 weeks of my life. I was however well taken care of, my husband was incredible. This did derail almost all travel plans for the summer (we did make it to the Oregon Coast for Lo's dance competition however the day after).
By fall needless to say I was itching to get out. I was leery about actually booking any air travel because I was still only 8 weeks post-op and while I was feeling good didn't want to take any chances. So about a week before and feeling a bit of anxiety that this was my daughters last year home, she and I planned a road trip to visit several colleges. She wanted to see University of Colorado (CU), Colorado State University (CSU) and Montana State University (MSU) (all of which she has now been accepted to).
Road trips are uncharacteristic for me, however my husband and I have been doing this more and more with our jeep camping and it's kind of rubbing off on me. I love my little honda, audible books and my daughter, what better way to spend time than driving around the country?!
In total we drove over 2660 miles, passed through 6 states, stayed in 5, visited 3 colleges and 2 national parks, in 1 week. It was awesome!
