On November 9Th Lars and I rode in the "Rally for Ed". It was a reminder to us what an amazing community we live in.
For more pictures of this great event check out www.bikewenatchee.org scroll down to bottom of the page and the guy from Wenatchee Outdoors put together a great slide show.

Hey, Jenni - Just started reading your blog and I think it is great! Did you and Lars know Ed or was this just a fundraiser of some sort? I looked at the web site but didn't get a chance to figure it all out. I'll stay in touch and I'm thinking of starting my own blog now. I'm not gonna lie I check yours pretty regularly - it's always fun to see what you have written!!
Hey Cris,
Ed Farrar is an orthopedic surgeon who commutes to the hospital on his bike. He was struck by a car head on 10/22, the ride was organized to show support for him, around 575 riders showed up. Lars and I know him from the hospital and cycling.
Hey, Jen-
How incredibly sad....did he pass away? Very scary! What a great show of love and support by the community though. What do you do at the hospital? Do you volunteer or do you or Lars work there? Last I remember he either owned or worked at the cycle shop next to your coffee shop?
I own the espresso stand at the Hospital. No he didn't pass away, but sustained serious spinal cord injuries and is still in the ICU.
That stinks! Hopefully he will be able to recover and get back to cycling again some day. I didn't know you owned the stand at the hospital I thought you had the one over in E. Wenatchee by 7-11 that you used to work at! Boy, am I out of the loop these days!
