More photos from vacation!

Stage 4, an 84 mile loop up to Mt Bachelor. Francisco Mancebo took the podium for this one. He rides for Rock Racing, but notice the Spanish flag on his jersey sleeve, this indicates he is the Spanish National Champion. Both he and Oscar Sevilla made noteworthy appearances in the Tour De France from 2000-2005, finishing in the top, but in 2006 they were 2 of many athletes linked to Operacian Puerto .

Ahh we love Oscar, wearing the yellow jersey, still the points leader (he went on to win the overall).

After watching racing, we got on our bikes and enjoyed a few of the many awesome trails Bend has to offer!

Stage 5, Saturday night the downtown Crit. This is how these guys raced for 90 minutes. We were at corner 3, and they would lap back within a minute, so crazy and fast!
Rocks team leading the peloton, you can see Oscar in yellow and right behind him with the tattoo is his teammate Ivan Dominguez, who won the crit.

Sunday stage 6, Awbry Butte circuit race. The men did 5, 17 mile laps around here. We positioned ourselves with Jake at the King of the Mountain!

Such a great place. We are already planning our vacation to come back next year.
Oh and for those who didn't know who the picture below was of, it's Orlando Bloom. We ran into him in our hotel the 1st day, and what a nice guy, so polite, and of coarse beautiful!

What a Day!

Bend is amazing! We are having such a great time, I cannot imagine a better place than Bend! There is endless cycling, plus rock climbing, hiking, kayaking...and everyone is doing it!
I have lots of pics, but they will have to be uploaded to facebook.
Today we went to watch the race, but ended up behind the peloton driving up to Mt Bachelor little did we know that would be just as exciting, we ended up with a group that got spit
off, drafting behind our car as we brought them to the peloton. At the 2nd feed zone the kids got out and took water bottles, we turned and took the cut off to get to the finish, it was so fun!

Love it here!

If you haven't guessed who was in the picture with Logan in the post below, here's a hint: he was in Pirates of the Caribbean.

202.3 miles....no problem!

Saturday morning we got up at 3:30 am, loaded our bikes and gear and set out to ride our bikes from Seattle to Portland (STP).
Our support crew so kindly dropping us off at 4:45 at Uof W. Without Christa being so willing to watch kiddos, drop us off, then later in the evening head to Portland pick us up and bring us back to Bellevue, we would not have been able to do it. Thank you Christa!!

This is at 50 miles, no problem!

At 202.25 miles we are still smiling, just not so energetic!

All in all it was a great day, the weather was a little windy from mile 50 on, but the temps were perfect! Our actual bike time was 12 hours. The hardest part of a long ride like that is mental strength, both Lars and I felt very strong, there was never a doubt in either of us about finishing, we knew we could do it, and that was huge. To be able to share this experience with Lars was so wonderful, I am a very lucky gal!

Luke saves the Day

So I had to hire Luke AGAIN to pull Logan's tooth. She was getting ready for dance camp and it was just hanging there, I didn't feel I could send her there like that. Luke being the old pro stepped right in!

She's a satisfied customer!

On another note, our raised beds are doing great and we know what's in them. This tree on the side of the house we had no clue, but we were so happy to see apricots..yummy! To the left of that tree we have a plum tree, we are turning into quite the farmers on Franklin Street!

Annabelle thought she could help Lars!

Sweet Summer Times

The water slides, Teagan and Lo

Logan jumped in the lake

Luke doing every pose possible

Claire came for a visit...we love when Claire comes

Who knew, but Franklin St has a 4Th of July parade. The kids in the neighborhood decorated bikes and scooters, there was snare drum, and a piccolo playing Yankee doodle, lead the way!
