Winter Happenings

I love this time of year! It has been so busy, we've had one or two things going on every night, but for whatever reason I love it!
Let's see this week in a nutshell: Thursday we had Lukes band Christmas concert and Logan had her first performance of the Nutcracker. They do not allow flash photography in the PAC so unfortunately we have no pictures of our beautiful Royal Page. Friday Eastmont vs Wenatchee game, more Nutcracker and I had a get together with some of my high school friends, again no camera! Needless to say by Sunday we were wiped! We had Logans daycare X-mas party, and what an event it is. Helen arranges for a "special" visitor to come and he brings each child a gift!
After that I got together with these lovely ladies for our annual "steamers" Christmas card photo. I love these gals, with out them I wouldn't be able to go on vacation and spend time with my family! I am a lucky girl to have them!

This was us Sunday evening, watching a movie. Kaiser was so tired too and in need of some snuggle time!

Almost December.

The day after Thanksgiving Lars and I went for a ride. Coming back along the river couldn't have been more beautiful. The same day Mission Ridge opened. We live in an outdoor playground...I love it!

Giving Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends and family. We are thankful for all of you!

Turkey on the Run

We started Thanksgiving off with Turkey on the Run. Lars and I helped put it on, so the whole family got to go down to Rotary Park at 6:30.

Luke ran his first 5k (3.1 miles) in about 24 minutes, with 2 of his buddies!

Lars sprinting to the finish with Ryan and Sarah. Lars was originally going to run the 12k, but then decided to run with Luke. Well then Luke chose friends, too late for Lars to change, so he ran the 5k in 21:26!

Logan ran the kids 2k! She did awesome!

Had to throw the Konrads in here. They brought their son Ben, he was such a good boy, pretty sure he thought this was a great way to start Thanksgiving! He even won wine for his parents!

Logan and her sense of style. There is no shame in her game.

November 7th, still riding.

This is such a questionable time of year for outdoor workouts, particularly the month of November. The road bike season is coming to an end, our daylight hours are limited, and the temperature is questionable. We have about a month until the ski season gets going.
Today we set out around noon, it was sunny and 47 degrees, 10 miles into the ride the wind was picking up and bringing with it rain, but it honestly didn't matter, it just feels good to be outside.

I have come to the conclusion I am NOT a gym person. I will run in all conditions other than ice outside. To do so I have invested in essential outdoor workout wear that limits the pain.
However we do resort to spin classes in the winter, and have really found a place we love to do strength training, The Inner Circle Gym.

Halloween Fun

Luke bailed on us and went to a friends, but before he left he got dressed in his "costume" to surprise Lars. He was Lars circa 1995-96!

Logan was a witch! My mom made her beautiful skirt and Logan picked the shirt and the hat was from Kay in the gift shop, she loved it!

Cal got to join us, he LOVED it!

Especially when Logan would walk with him!

Family Pics

Mary took our pictures for the 3rd year in a row. She is such a talented young lady! This year for what ever reason Logan did a very weird forced smile...such is life with a 7 year old.

Fall

There are so many things I love about fall.

Taking time to rake the leaves, and sitting back and just watching the kids enjoy them.

These are the moments I cherish.

Luke, my go to bag holder for the leaves.

He waited patiently for the girls to have his turn in the leaves.

I love it when time just stands still, no places to be but in the moment.

The Other Members of the Family

AnnaBelle Rules! We love our girl!

Who doesn't love Tiffany

I thought I would share with you the real reason I ran a marathon!

So coming into the finish line, its lined with firefighters in tux's handing out little blue Tiffany boxes, and you just know at that moment its all worth it!

Marathon...Done!

I finished my first marathon today! I will say it is an accomplishment I thought I would never do! San Francisco was quite hilly, but oh so beautiful. I have missed this city!
I have no pictures from the run itself because all of us down here ran. But at the finish we were greeted by firefighters in tuxes with little Tiffany boxes (I'll take a picture of the necklace later). In the meantime here are few pics from the last couple days!
The oxygen bar at the expo.

Our hotel in the background. The Westin St Francis. Right down in Union Square at the start of the race.

This is what Steph and I did the day before, read, iced and sat in the sun.

Oktoberfest 1/2 marathon

Remember to click on the pictures for better quality.

Yesterday October 3rd was the 5Th annual Leavenworth 1/2 marathon.
This great group below works at the hospital and was doing the marathon relay.

Me and Julee at the start, last year this was our first 1/2 marathon ever. We had so much fun, I think it will be an annual thing for us!

At this point it had warmed up from 32 degrees when we checked in and was now 44 degrees! My sister in law, Christa (on the left) ran her first 1/2....I think she is hooked!

At hour and 55 minutes later, we are still smiling! We truly enjoyed this race, the course is not a fast one (you end up on a trail for 3 miles, and it starts with a 2 mile hill), so we took in the scenery and chit chatted the entire way!

We love our swag! This year since it was the 5Th year they did hooded sweatshirts, so cute! Our friend Erin (in the middle) this was her first 1/2 and her birthday!
