My Little Lilo

Today was Wenatchee's all city track meet.  Each elementary school in Wenatchee has been working for 2 1/2 weeks with the 3rd-5th graders that tried out for track to represent their school. 7 schools came together today to compete.
Logan wasn't going to do track and then last minute (after running the Apple Blossom Fun Run) she decided may as well.  I was so proud of her.  She is not a natural runner at all, but the girl has a mighty spirit and has fun doing it....more power to her!  It also didn't hurt that she had a HUGE cheering squad, my parents, my sis and her two kids, plus Luke, Lars and I!  She loved every minute of it!  Way to go Lilo!!

Taking it all in..

Luke had his last middle school track meet last Friday.  Next year he is off to the High School and will play tennis in the Spring instead.  I love watching my kids events.  I know people that show up and can't wait for them to finish, but I could sit for hours watching.  It's one of those times in the day when I am not wishing the day away, but rather just taking it all in, knowing that these times in their lives go so fast.  I am so grateful for each and everyday I get to be with them.  Because of our parenting plan I now don't have them for 7 days of the month.  I know I am lucky compared to some in my situation, but its still 7 days that I don't get to be around 2 of the most amazing people!  I do know the kids and I now slow down so much more, we are more appreciative!

Girlfriends

Throughout this process called "divorce"  I have had an amazing group of friends.  These are the ladies every Wednesday after Lars left and he'd have the kids, went to happy hour, dinner, workouts, sat with me and at times picked me off the floor!  They are the ones that let me heal, they are the ones that kept me from doing stupid things during a vulnerable time.  I thank god for our age and experiences because they offered perspective.  This week they did the same.  I felt the walls caving in on me and again they came to the rescue.  I can't imagine what I would do without these ladies.  I have never felt more love in my life than I do now.   I'm in love with my friends.  Thank you lovely ladies of my life!

I think this sums us up!

Picture Blog A Thon

Spring has sprung in Wenatchee.  One of my favorite times (well that and summer and fall) to be a road cyclist.  The view I see from 2 wheels some people miss out their whole lives.
This was on a ride with a friend to Dryden 2 weeks ago

My very capable and willing to go on whatever ride I throw out friends.  A week and a half ago, Burch Mt Rd

Last Monday with Margo, Stines Hill.  I loved how the blossoms were in bloom and the snow on the Mountains

The has just become a "slight" addiction.  This isn't even one of the fun presentations.  The kids and I love IWA, we walked down at least once, but more oftern twice a week!

Friends

Lots to share from the last couple weeks, but at this moment this means more than  I can say.  Needless to say this road is filled with good and bad, or more so, strong days and sad days.  Not really sure why this week has been so hard (well I have an idea, but I've been asked not to share about a certain someone).  In any case, had a few days of tears and came home to this last night at my door.  Of course I instantly start crying again because it means so much too me, to have such amazing people in my life (by that same token it makes me sad the "certain someone" has chosen not to have these people in their life).  Not sure how I got so lucky, but I am blessed.

WARNING: Disturbing Image

I am conflicted.  There was a time in my life I fed the birds, now my cat eats them.  This is a daily occurrence at my house, it's birds (large and small), mice, rats, spiders and the kids and my dinner.  I got this cat when I lived in East Wenatchee and the orchard behind us was cut down,  the mice took refuge in my home, she proved to be an excellent mouser.  The cat (AnnaBelle) is a killer, but she is the coolest cat I have ever owned.  She does her thing all day outside, she has neighborhood cat friends that hang here, at night she comes in and sits at the dinner table with us and at bed she chooses who she want to sleep with.  The dogs don't mess with Ann.
She and I have come to an agreement on the cute little creature killing, as long as they don't come in we are good (she seems perfectly happy to consume them!)!
