babysitting fun

Logan and I flew to Seattle Sunday to babysit Callahan, Lars and Luke drove over later to join us!
Logan got to enjoy all her toys she passed on to Cal, like the outside toy..

Outside car...

she showed him how to play with all the little people, we brought over last fall when we moved!

he thought we were pretty entertaining to eat with....I forgot how much clean up is involved!

oh and snuggling with Logan is so fun...

time for stylish jammies and cousin Luke to join the fun!
We had so much fun, and he was so sweet. I think we wore him out though because he slept so well!

We did the DU!

This morning was the Wenatchee Valley Duathlon. This is the first time I have done an event as a team, and it was so fun. The weather was typical March..cold, wet, and a little breezy. Steph ran an awesome 5k to start it (not to mention she had bronchitis last week), I rode the 17 mile ride, then she finished is with another 5k.
Our time was 1:42, we were happy...got our shirts and 1st place medal!

Our friend Jennifer was also doing the DU, her good attitude before, during and after made it so fun!

We love St Patricks Day!!

St Patty's has long been one of my favorite days (to me it is a holiday)! This year was no exception. The Velo club had their ride, the stop being our house where Lars served up green beer!

Yes Jake rode in cowboy boots! This went on from 5-7ish neighbors and friends stopping by for a glass (I know should've been pints) of green beer!

And would the night be complete without corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, and carrots! I did a last minute pick up of Irish soda bread from Great Harvest but that went with the beer drinking!

Wishing everyone a Happy St. Patty's Day!

Memory lane

Lars and I were married December 28th 1998. It was before digital photography, so 10 years later I finally got around to scanning and putting them on the computer, since we only have about 20 photos from our special day!

Yes Luke was in our wedding! And he sure was cute!

This is the group that came to Maui. Its actually a really special picture because, Lars mom got to share that day with us, it was her first time to Hawaii, and Lars and Christa have some great memories of that trip. She passed away from breast cancer in February 2000.

This stone was part of our wedding package, each time we went to Maui after that we would stop in Kaanapali to see it. In 2007 the resort was going through a remodel so we asked it we could take it, we dug it up and sent it back to Wenatchee!
Cheers to 10 years!

Yoga

A quick little blip about how much I love yoga! Mine and Lars New Years resolution was yoga. Lars had never gone, and it had been many years since I have gone (maybe pre Logan). So we have started going to Power Yoga at the WRAC on Wednesday. The studio is heated to 80 degrees and power yoga moves through the poses pretty quickly. Since Lars and I spend so much time on the bike our hip flexors are so tight, and flexibility is null!
After class on Wednesdays I leave there feeling like I've had a massage. Really if you haven't tried it...you need too!

and the sun came out

So we played! We live right around the corner from a great park. Luke wanted me to showcase some of his skills.

Yes it makes me a nervous wreck!

March Weather

Yes we were riding our bikes yesterday morning on clear rodes and 4o degrees! Today we have snow. If I recall correctly this is typical for Wenatchee at the end of winter...just when we think spring has arrived!

School pics and books

Logan had class pics today, and this is what she chose to wear. I must say this is the most coordinated she has been all year. Just ignore the socks and shoes and she is looking good!

On a book note...I have been in a slump. Most of you know I am an avid reader, any and all! So in November I read the Twilight series, as corny as it sounds it brought me back to my Sweet Valley High days..ahh the good memories!
In December for vacation I read a beautiful memoir, What Remains by Carole Radziwell, however it is terribly sad (are you familiar with the Kennedy's). Then started the Shack but it started out so sad I had to put it down, so I went to Costco and got Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates..a little depressing, now back home I just finished The Year of Fog by Michelle Richmond, good but a little downer as well.
Does anyone have any suggestions...for those that have read the Shack should I try again? I need out of my reading slump!
